Pig Man

Old one this but I forgot to put it online at the time and I've not posted up anything in a while cause I'm working on super secret stuff I can't put online just yet (I'm helping the Illuminati rebrand, we're thinking the all hearing ear). Anyway this was some EP artwork I did for A Fight You Can't Win.

Remember: Stay Positive

Remember, when it feels like everything's going against you and you can't seem to do anything right, when the nights are long and cold, when the world feels like a cruel, heartless place and on the days when, no matter how much ice-cream you eat, you can't help but feel like a trapped, lonely creature stranded on a bleak, loveless rock hurtling through a black, empty, pointless void, it's important to stay positive.

Daniel Says Aye

I'll be voting yes next week, because I believe that Scotland can be a better, fairer country than the UK is now, it's that simple.

Inspired By Independence

Some work I put in for National Collective's 'Inspired By Independence' which was launched as part of Yestival the other week. It's got lots of interesting stuff in it (much of it lots more interesting and informative than my doodlings!)

Some illustrations I've done recently for 220 Triathlon Magazine. The first one was about older athletes breaking down barriers in major international triathlons and marathons, the second was for a piece about animals inadvertently effecting races and the third was about seasoned, former champion Leanda Cave being denied a place in the Welsh team for the Commonwealth Games.

Deadlines for editorial illustrations can be pretty tight and I never had more than a few of days to do each one but I think that actually helped in many ways. There's no time to second guess yourself and you need to take an idea and run with it (no pun intended). That forces you to keep it simple (My dad always told me to remember KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid) and that in turn helps keep it nice and punchy. Ultimately it's also just preferred my way of working, I like to work short, intense bursts and that's the nature of editorial work. Plus there's usually plenty subject matter to work with!

Dude, That Big Pink Squid Can Party

This piece is for a show down in Leith called 'Night Lights', the brief was to produce a piece around the Leith nightlife so I went for something a little bit marine, a little bit gay, a little bit punk and all a bit thashy and chaotic in a fun happy-go-lucky sort of way. Hurray, it's a big drunk squid in a pint glass, wooo!

Floating Bikes

A piece I did for Triathlon Magazine about in in the future bike might be so light they float away. Just finished another piece for the same magazine (but I can't show you that right now...)
